"Never in all my life has such a fresh breeze passed through this valley. There may not be smoke on the horizon from a city lain to waste, but neither is there smoke from the pyres of our slain."
love the story of Jonah as I have related to it most of the common Bible stories. I was raised in one of the convoluted conservative homes that valued the appearance of religion over anything. I have a degree in theology and have come to my own religious beliefs, but I can’t say I’ve seen a story from this perspective before. Well done, I shall be watching this publication closely.

The story of grace found in Jonah is truly profound and lying just beneath the surface of what most people are familiar with (we like to get hung up on the fish). It was an interesting perspective to write from.
Your descriptions are handled beautifully. This was an incredible read! It reads like a campfire story, one which I’m gonna have to read again when it gets a little bit warmer for a campfire haha
Descriptive and emotive! For me, Jonah was always held up as one of my favorite books although it's one of the shorter ones. The expounding of the scene was great! What a cool continuation.
Thank you so much! I always shrugged Jonah off because I was so familiar with it's lesson, but one Sunday two years ago I listened to a sermon that just made the book come alive in a new way. I wrote the first draft to this shortly after that.
Interesting story to choose to tell. Nice framework. It moves a little too fast for me understand some characters quickness and slowness to shalom. But I like the lingering on an obedience despite a sick heart

I am so pleased you liked it.
This was cool! I love the way you set up his character at the beginning, it did an excellent job painting a lurid portrait of the narrator.
Weaving a tapestry of grit and shadow that pulls the reader into a world where every corner feels alive. 👍
Thanks! That's well worded high praise.

Thanks! Thats how I envisioned the mc relaying his story, by firelight.

Thanks for reading and thanks for your feedback! Paving a story, especially a short one, is something I can always improve on.
